Google tricks the US Government into believing it can cut traffic to piracy websites by 90%
On February 8, 2022, Google released a document to the U.S. Copyright Office saying when a site is demoted by its new Pirate update, the traffic Google Search sends it drops by 89% on average, tricking clueless people in the government to believe that the piracy website traffic would be down by 89% that’s 89% fewer people accessing pirate download sites.
The Pirate update, which Google originally called the DMCA update, looked at if a site had a large number of DMCA takedown requests and if so, it demoted the site down its rankings which basically only effects people who search Google for pirate movies, which is probably nobody.
For some strange reason Google believes it can stop sites that host pirate movies and TV shows from getting traffic but the online pirate community is laughing this off saying this will have zero effect on the amount of visitors or downloads because people using pirate sites either have the link saved or get the current URL from pirate forums and message boards.
Seriously… No one is searching Google for Pirate Websites
Another laughable fact is that Google is treating the internet like its own property, like some self appointed guardians and the people behind these press releases actually believe that all traffic that these pirate website get comes from Google which anyone with a couple of brain cells knows is completely wrong and if Google isn’t careful it will start to lose revenue and share prices will drop as more and more people ditch the corrupt, woke, left wing search engine and start to go elsewhere for information.
Google executives need to get their heads from up their own backsides and step into the real world for once. I mean who the hell do Google think they are? OK they can manipulate their own algorithms to skew the rankings and show support other large far left corporations and basically screw the little guy like they have done recently by throwing self employed independent traders off Google maps, but claiming that they can cut almost 90% of traffic going to pirate websites by pushing them down their own rankings is ludicrous.
Google could remove the pirate websites from their rankings completely if they wanted to, so why don’t they? Well look at it this way, if Google removed a pirate website from their database the naive people in the Government may start to understand Google’s role when they type in the address of said website and its still there.. Live and active.
Do Google Believe They Actually Control The Internet?
Google are simply one of 1.18 billion websites currently live on the world wide web hosted on servers across the World, they are NOT the Gods of the internet and people currently use Google to search for other websites. Google is basically a massive database of information gathered off the internet. However in the last few years thanks to Google’s continued manipulation of the search results people are choosing other, less bias search engines such as DuckDuckGo.
DuckDuckGo reportedly has around 80 million users but because DuckDuckGo doesn’t track users, it’s not clear exactly how many people do actually use it and this figure is probably much higher, and the more Google meddles and tries to impose their mindset on the people of the World the more people will use alternative search engines.
Google started off as tool to find information and websites. Now Google seems to be some sort of parental lock or closed off network. Remember back in the 90’s when you could search and view websites on AOL and had to choose “search the World Wide Web” or visit ” the World Wide Web ” to get results from everywhere? This is what Google is slowly becoming, a closed off network of approved websites with the correct woke outlook and the acceptable political alignment. No one searched or used AOL’s closed network and the day will soon come when no one will search Google if they want unbiased results.
